Brain, Robert Herbert appears on the electoral rolls for 1918-1920.

Brain, Rowland Herbert was born in 1879 in Great Somerford, Wiltshire. Son of Jabez Brain and Mary Ann Hobbs. He married Amy Green in 1920 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1881 census for Great Somerford, Wiltshire; 1901 for Compton Bassett, Wiltshire; 1911 for Egham, Berkshire. He appears on the electoral roll for 1921. He was a footman at Compton House, Compton Bassett, Wiltshire and later a butler at Hangmoor House, Virginia Waters, Surrey, for Frederic Hartmann. When the Hartmann family moved to Adlestrop House in 1913 it seems Rowland joined them. He died in 1948 in Gloucestershire Rural.
